AUTOPSY
Almøst Human is a swiss metal band. But it’s also a universe, a vision of the world and humanity.
An orchestration of the life and death’s cycle which finds an echo even in its own biography.
First steps done in the 90’s on Olivier Perdrizat (guitar and composition) and Rosario Fullone (drums)
initiative, Almøst Human slowly faded a few years later before rising back again , in 2010, when Jan Peyer
(bass) joined the band. This seminal line-up is soon completed with Chris Matthey; a second guitarist
whose producer’s talents helped to forge a sound as much powerful as delicate. Ben Plüss (voice) comes
crown the Gang, lending his verve and unique tone to a collection lashing soul and flesh’s intimity.
Making fun of usual metal-bound « clichés » (occult symbols, blood), it questions us about our human
nature and about the place we occupy – or wish we occupied – in the animal kingdom. « Rather ask than
claim », summarizes Olivier Perdrizat, who composes most of the riffs and whose thoughts widely inspired
lyrics written out by Sebastian Maeder, Nick Maeder Gotthard singer’s brother joining together technicality
peculiar to the xtreme metal with rock energy, Almøst Human always focus on melody and emotion, in
the broad sense of term.
Totally self produced, if we except the mastering realised in Stockholm (Sweden) by the Cutting Room
studio, the first Almøst Human EP is a slap in the face which shouldn’t leave indifferent any modern and
innovative metal fan.
The whole pre-production has been realised in studio, even before the musicians started the rehearsals
together. « We did the exact opposite of what bands usually do », explains Ben Plüss. « It made it possible
for us to go further into the creation process than in the hub of a rehearsal Room ». We particularly stressed
on atmospheres, guitars effects. All of it enjoyed a production and mixing of quality thanks to the work
accomplished in the Royal Studios of Lausanne by Chris Matthey.
From now on, Almøst Human members share a mutual dream : defend their « repertoire » live. It will
represent the realization of more than two years of intensive labour, which will probably erect the band
as one of the most convincing value in helvetian metal area!

Ben started to sing late in life, at the age
of 20, at the request of a friend, guitarist
in the band Blind Addiction. Then he
carried on playing gigs with them
through Switzerland and France as well
til the turning point of the millenium.
Since then, he multiplied collaborations
with different bands as Tasteless and to
the vanishing point, in particular opening
for Tété and Joss Stone on the stage of
the Caprices Festival. He also did some
studio sessions for DJ Pure (cover
version by DJ Tatana) and Radi Tabasco.
Founding member, in 2003, of the
(Swiss) label Saïko Records, he quit in
2008 at the birth of his first child.
Today he dedicates himself to his new
musical projects (Almøst Human,
Derrick, Convulsif big band, Enigmatik).
Chris made his first steps in a music
school at the age of 6. Pleased by rock
music, his choice soon was inclined to
electric guitar. At 19, Chris obtained a
certificate (diploma) at the “Musical
Technologies School” of Geneva, before
releasing a first try called “The trip of
Kaikai”. From here he regularly played
with his crossover/jazz-rock band to
eventually turn to teaching guitar in
different local swiss music schools.
In parallel, he dicovered musical production
and joined the Royal Studios in
Lausanne. There, he recorded, mixed or
produced various artists of many eclectic
influences such as rock, metal,
flamenco, french song, hip-hop, pop or
even dance.
The Royal Studios were also the cradle of
the first 14 Almøst Human tunes, whose
four are gathered to set up their initial EP.
Jan is without a doubt the most polyvalent
musician in the band. A bass
teacher since several years, he mainly
associated with bands like B-connected,
Jack is dead, Bobby Johnson, Eric
st Michaels (china) or even Thierry
Romanens. He is the co-director of the
“Fodge Music School” d’Yverdon since
2009, and his co-founder as well.
With numerous concerts at his credit,
he will principally perform at the Paleo
Festival 2012. His musical path brought
him on european stages and northafrican
as well (Casablanca Jazz Festival
2011).
Rosario started playing drums when he
was 9, before taking courses during 6
years in the main local music school. At
15 years old, he started playing in bands
such as Abracadatrash, Damage and
then Clean Dirt, with which he went tot
he US to storm places like the Whiskey a
Gogo, the Roxy and other small clubs.
The first Clean Dirt album was produced
by Harris Johns (Kreator, Tankard, Immolation,
aso…).
Then showed up Almøst Human, with
the issue in 1997 of a first self-produced
album. He’s still an active musician in
Almøst Human today.
Olivier Perdrizat played a few years with
Sideburn (former Genocide), hitting the
stage a hundred times in Switzerland,
France and Germany with « the rock
700 » and two semi-finals at the
Marlboro Rockin as highlights. The
band mainly recorded a 4-tracks (roots
in rock) under Dirk Steffens‘ guidance
(Accept, China, Helloween, Pink Cream
69, Running wild) and an album called
« showtime » under the direction of
Jürg Nägeli (Krokus).
He also worked along with Rosario
Fullone and Nick Maeder (the new
Gotthard lead singer) within Clean Dirt.
Olivier Perdrizat created the group
Almøst Human in 1996, recording a first
self-produced CD in 1997. It’s him who
reforms the band in 2010.
